Das ging ja flott! Gerade eben hab ich euch noch erzählt, dass ich von der Juni-Box nicht viel erwartete und sie möglicherweise zurückschicken würde, und schon ist sie da und ich werd sie behalten. Sie kommt zwar nicht ganz an die Mai-Box herankommt (vor allem wertmäßig), aber es sind trotzdem gute Sachen drin. Drei davon sind Proben, aber es sind verdammt großzügige Proben.

Well, that was quick. I was just telling you how I was fully expecting the Austrian June Glossy Box to be disappointing and that I'd return it and here it is. And I guess I'm keeping it. It may not have as expensive stuff in it as the May box but it has good stuff in it. Now, most of these are sample sizes, but they're damn generous samples.

Tops

Maria Galland HelioSoin SPF 50 Ultra Protective Care for the Face, 50ml (Original €32.50/200ml; Sample: €8.13)

Das ist für mich der Hit der Box. Ich werd rot, sobald ich einmal die Sonne schau, deshalb trag ich eigentlich fast immer Sonnencreme. Weil das für die Haut im Gesicht nicht besonders toll ist, verwend ich auch immer eine spezielle (und sündteure) Creme für's Gesicht, aber die ist fast leer. Jetzt hab ich Nachschub!

This is my favourite product in the box. Since I burn if I so much as look at the sun, I always sun screen. Regular sun screen isn't exactly great for my skin so I use special (and expensive) sun screen for my face. I'm almost out and now I've got enough to probably last me a good part of the summer!

L'Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Shampoo 75ml (Original €16.50/250ml; Sample 4,95)

Glanz und Geschmeidigkeit ist bei meinem Haar immer willkommen. Mal sehen, wie's wirkt.

This is supposed to make your hair shinier and softer, which is fine with me. Let's see how it works.

Figs & Rouge Coco-Rose Tinted Lip Balm 12,5ml (€5.90)

So richtig Farbe gibt das blassrosane Teil nicht ab, aber es ist angenehm zu tragen, scheint nicht auszutrocknen und der Rosenduft ist so dezent, dass ich ihn aushalte (siehe unten für das Gegenteil).

The lip balm may be tinted a pale pink but that does not transfer to the lips. However, it's pleasant to wear, doesn't appear to dry the lips out and the rose scent is so slight that I can deal with it (see below for the opposite case).

Flops

Anatomicals - you need a blooming shower! Your nose smells rose body cleanser 150ml (Original €6.95/300ml; Sample €3,48)

"Your nose smells rose" ist Programm. Ich rieche die Rosen und den im Namen unerwähnt gebliebenen Jasmin und zwar ordentlich. Pfui. Wenn ich mich mit diesem Zeug dusche, könnt ich mich wahrscheinlich genauso gut mit Rosenwasser übergießen. Bei so penetrantem süßlichem Rosenduft wird mir schlecht, es erinnert mich an eklige Süßigkeiten und alte Frauen.

My nose does smell rose. But not in a good way. Yuck. I think showering with this would be like pouring rose water over myself. This intense sickly sweet smell of roses makes me sick and reminds me of disgusting candy I got as a child (and ate anyway, because that's when you do when you're a child and there's candy) and old ladies.

Dove Maximum Protection anti-transpirant 45ml (€5.99)

 

Ich bin Anti-Transpirantien gegenüber etwas misstrauisch, weil's sicher nicht gut sein kann, einfach die Poren zu verkleben. Dove weiß das und hat im Beipackzettel gleich die Frage "Sind Anti-Transpirantien ungefährlich?" beantwortet. Überzeugt bin ich nicht, aber verwenden tu ich die Dinger trotzdem immer wieder, weil's halt schon praktisch ist.

I'm a bit leery about anti-transpirants because surely it cannot be good to clog up the pores so they won't produce sweat. Dove is obviously aware of this and included "Are anti-transpirants safe?" in its FAQ that comes with the instructions. I'm not convinced but I still use these things sometimes because they are quite convenient.

 

Insgesamt haben die Produkte einen Gesamtwert von €28,45, was okay ist, und ich kann die meisten verwenden. Ich glaube, die Glossbox Österreich bekommt eine weitere Chance...

Leute, ich bin so ein Opfer. Es ist ja nichts Neues, dass ich auf Beautyboxen stehe – solange sie keine komplette Überraschung sind. Bisher hatte ich noch nie eine Glossybox Österreich bestellt weil ich in den Posts und Unboxing-Videos immer nur gehört hab, wie mies sie ist und vom Inhalt echt nicht beeindruckt war, wenn man bedenkt, dass er 17,95 kostet (inkl. Porto) und dann schaut, was ich sonst in meinen Boxen kriege.

I’m such an addict. It’s no secret I love beauty sample boxes - as long as they’re not too much of a surprise ;) I’ve so far refrained from ordering a Glossy Box because all the blog posts and unboxing videos I’ve seen of them in Austria have been very unimpressive and not worth 17,95 (including postage), especially compared to my other boxes.

Aber trotzdem lese ich die Unboxing-Posts immer sehr gerne und im Mai gab es die Favoriten-Box mit 5 Fullsize-Produkten und als ich die ersten Bilder auf Blogs sah,  gefiel mir der Inhalt sehr gut. Nachdem da einige Produkte drin waren, die ich mir auch so gekauft hätte (oder zumindest entsprechende Produkte einer anderen Marke) und es so günstiger war, hab ich mir eine Box bestellt – die waren nämlich nicht ausverkauft. (Ob’s an der generellen Unzufriedenheit liegt?) Natürlich waren nicht alle Boxen gleich, aber von den 8 oder 9 Produkten, die zur Auswahl standen, hab ich ganz gute abgegriffen.

Still, I always read the posts obsessively with great interest and in May it turned out they had a special box with five full-size products (where they usually only have one full-size one and some samples) and I liked what I was seeing on blogs in the first two days after it started arriving. Surprisingly (or perhaps not so surprisingly, given their less than stellar reputation) they still had stock left so I went and ordered one because these were things I really wanted and it was cheaper than buying them individually. Not all the boxes were the same, I think there were 8 or 9 products from which they compiled the boxes, but mine was pretty nice.

Tops

 

Syoss Glanzversiegelungsfluid (9,99 € / 100 ml): Ich hab ganz kurze Haare, deshalb sind Glanzsprays und –fluids neben Gel das einzige Stylingprodukt, das ich verwende. Mein Glanzspray war aus und Syoss soll ja recht gut sein (oder vielleicht ist das nur die Werbung, wer weiß). Und ja, es ist gut. Es riecht etwas eigenartig, dieser künstliche Beerengeruch, der in den rosanen Veet-Wachsstreifen ist, aber der Geruch verflüchtigt sich zum Glück schnell und ist auch sonst erträglich. Man braucht nur ein paar Tropfen für’s trockene oder feuchte Haar und es glänzt wirklich sehr schön. Es ist ölig, aber nicht wie so ekliges Haaröl aus den 30er-Jahren wo es den Männern nur so aus den Haaren triefte oder auch mal etwas ranzig aussah (sag ich jetzt mal so von Fotos, war ja nicht dort).

Syoss glossing hair fluid (€9.99 / 100 ml) with “lightweight micro oils” (which sounds made up but just means that the droplets are very small). This kind of smoothing, glossing stuff is the only hair product I use for my short pixie cut (other than gel) and I’d recently run out. Syoss is supposed to be a pretty good brand as well.

My verdict? It’s great. The smell is a bit odd but I can handle it, and it dissipates very quickly. It’s a fake-fruity smell that reminds me of the berry-scented Veet wax strips. You only need a few drops and it makes the hair very shiny indeed. As the name indicates, it’s oily, but it’s not like the old-fashioned 1930s hair oil where you’d see it dripping from guys’ heads or going all nasty – it just gives your hair a nice sheen. 

Der Jelly Pong Pong lip blush (15,- € / 2,5 g) ist ein chubbystickeskes Lippenzeug in einem richtig geilen Rot-Ton. In manchen Boxen war ja ein blassrosaner der angeblich nicht so viel Farbe auf die Lippen brachte, dieser gibt aber richtig fett Farbe ab – ist dann aber auch schnell wieder weg, muss man also öfter mal neu auftragen. Aber gefällt auf jeden Fall.

Jelly Pong Pong lip blush (€15.00 / 2.5g) in a stunning red, chubby stick style. Some people got a light bubblegum pink so I’m glad I got this one. It’s pretty wham on the lips but you have to reapply it constantly to keep the colour there. Still, very cool.

Neutrogena Bodybalsam Aufbauende Pflege mit Nordic Berry  (3,49 € / 200 ml): Den hatte ich bisher eigentlich nur deshalb nicht gekauft, weil ich so viele Körpercremes und –lotionen zum Aufbrauchen hab (und weil man die leckeren Beeren lieber essen sollte). Es ist ein angenehmer leichter Balsam, riecht sehr gut (und trotzdem mild genug) und ich bin sowieso ein Fan von Neutrogena, weil deren norwegische Formel so ziemlich das Einzige ist, was meine extrem trockenen Hände im Winter retten kann. Ich hab die Folie nur ein kleines Bisschen abgezogen, um die Fingerkuppe reinzutauchen, und dann hab ich’s wieder geschlossen – wie gesagt, ich hab ein paar andere Sachen aufzubrauchen, aber ich freu mich schon sehr auf diese!

Neutrogena’s new Nordic Berry skincare for dry skin (€3.49 / 200ml) – the only reason I hadn’t bought this yet was that I wanted to use up some other body lotions first. And also because it’s a shame to use these berries for skincare when you could be eating them. This is more of a light cream or mousse than a lotion, it smells lovely and Neutrogena is my go-to brand for hand care because it takes care of my dry, dry hands like nothing else, so I think it’ll be great for me. I only opened it a teensy bit to dip my finger in and then put it back to wait until I’ve used up those other lotions, but I’m really looking forward to it!

 

Flops

La Roche Hydreane BB creme (17,90 € / 40 ml) wär ja eigentlich kein Flop gewesen, hätte die Farbe gepasst. Medium ist für meine blasse sommersprossige Haut einfach viel zu dunkel, auch im Sommer. Ich war allerdings nicht sonderlich überrascht, denn ich hab auf allen Blogs nur die Medium gesehen und man hört ja immer wieder, dass die nicht wirklich auf’s Beautyprofil achten (wobei es mir dann ein Rätsel ist, warum sie überhaupt eins haben – die meisten Infos, die sie da abfragen, sind nicht mal aus Marketingsicht sonderlich nützlich).

La Roche Hydreane BB creme (€17.90 / 40 ml): Not a flop in itself, but it’s medium, so it’s far too dark for me, even in summer (I don’t tan, freckles just take over my face at some point unless I burn first). I wasn’t very surprised though because all the pictures I saw posted on blogs showed medium and I’ve heard many people say that Glossybox don’t really take your beauty profile into consideration (though why they ask you to fill it in in the first place is beyond me, most of the stuff they want to know isn’t even useful for direct marketing purposes).

Inglot Freedom System Lidschatten (7,- €/ 2,3-3,2g) wär ja auch kein Flop gewesen hätt ich das tolle Violett bekommen, das ich auf einem Blog gesehen habe und nicht ein dunkles Braun (Farbe 237), mit dem ich mir nur einen Leichenlook schminken könnte (möchte jemand von euch Österreicherinnen tauschen?).

Inglot freedom system eye shadow (€7.00 / 2.3-3.2g): This wouldn’t have been a flop either had the colour been different – someone got a gorgeous purple and I was really hoping for that, but this dark brown (colour 237) would just make me look sick.

Aber gut, für diese “Flops” wird sich sicher auch jemanden finden, die sich darüber freut, also kann ich mit der Enttäuschung leben. Es hat sich schon allein wegen der drei Top-Produkteausgezahlt.

Both of these “flops” will make someone very happy though, so while I’m a bit disappointed, I can deal with it. I definitely got my money’s worth even with just the three products I’ll use myself.

The rest

Als Extrageschenk war in der Box ein rosa Notizbüchlein. Notizbücher kann ich gar nicht genug haben, allerdings weiß ich nicht so recht, ob ich mich mit einem rosa Glossybox-Notizbuch in der Öffentlichkeit zeigen will – vielleicht verwend ich’s ja für meine Nageldesignskizzen.

There was an extra gift in the box as well – a small pink notebook. Notebooks are one thing I cannot have enough of. I don’t think I want to be running around in public with a pink notebook that says "my glossy notes", but maybe I’ll use it for my nail art sketches.

Ja, und das wär das Ende meines Glossybox-Abenteuers gewesen – hätte ich nicht so spät im Mai bestellt dass nur ein paar Tage später schon die Juni-Box abgebucht wurde. Ich hätte natürlich kündigen und das Geld zurückfordern können, aber stattdessen will ich mir einmal die volle Überraschung geben. Ich bezweifle, dass die Box an die Mai-Box herankommt, aber im schlimmsten Fall kann ich sie ja zurückschicken...

So that would have been that, but since I had ordered at the very end of May, the June subscription fee was charged to my account just a few days later. I could have contested it and cancelled the subscription, but then I decided to live dangerously and go for a full surprise this once. I doubt it will be as good as the May box was, but I can always send it back if it’s awful...

Und noch ein Boxen-Post für euch! Die Beautesse-Box für Mai, die ich ja schon hier im Vorfeld analysiert hatte, kam letzte Woche an. Ich war mir ja anfangs nicht sicher, ob ich sie bestellen sollte, konnte dann aber doch nicht widerstehen und freu mich sehr darüber!

Hier seht ihr die Box in ihrer ganzen Pracht – mit dabei waren außerdem Prospekte von Ingrid Millet und La Mer sowie Gutscheine für einen Bobbi Brown-Schminktermin, eine La Mer-Miniprobe und 10 Euro bei der Parfümerie Nägele & Strubell.

Da ich im Analysepost ja schon recht ausführlich über die Produkte und Preise geschrieben habe, werd ich euch hier nur erzählen, welchen Eindruck ich nach dem ersten Ausprobieren von den Produkten habe. Wer die offiziellen Beschreibungen lesen möchte, kann hier nachsehen.

Look, another beauty box post! The May Beautesse box, which I previewed and analysed here, arrived last week. I dithered for quite a long time whether I should get it but in the end I couldn’t resist and I’m glad I didn’t.

Here’s the box in all its glory. It also included product information folders by Ingrid Millet and La Mer as well as vouchers for a Bobbi Brown makeup session, a La Mer minisample and €10 to spend at luxury cosmetics store Nägele & Strubell.

Since I talked about these products and their pricing a lot in the last post, I’m just going to give you my impressions now that I’ve actually been able to test them.

Tops:

Biotherm Aquasource Deep Serum:

Überraschung! Dieses Produkt war gar nicht angekündigt.
Zum Auftragen vor der normalen Gesichtscreme. Mir ist nicht ganz klar, wieso, aber sagen wir mal es tut was Gutes. Angenehm und nicht fettend im Auftrag, ein neutraler, eher seifiger Geruch.

Surprise product here, they didn't list this on the website. This is the good kind of surprise.
You’re supposed to apply this before your regular face cream. I’m not sure why but I guess it does good things. Pleasant to apply, no residue, rather neutral, soapy smell.

Sensai Prime Solution:

Ebenfalls vor der normalen Gesichtspflege auftragen, genau genommen vor der Sensai Emulsion. Was ein Glück, dass ich die gerade in der Douglas-Box bekommen hab ;) Daher werd ich sie in Kombination noch ausführlich testen. Kaum wahrnehmbarer Geruch, fühlt sich auch ganz angenehm an.

This is also for application under your normal skincare – Sensai emulsion, in fact. Isn’t it lucky how I just got that in my Douglas box? This means I’ll test them together. It seems pleasant and is nearly scentless.

Lancome Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate:

Und noch eins für unter die Pflege. Was ist denn hier los? (Wenn ich jetzt mal raten müsste, würde ich sagen, da will wer einen neuen Markt schaffen, indem noch ein Bedürfnis, von dem wir nicht wussten, dass wir es hatten, erfüllt wird.) Aber gut, „normale“ Gesichtscremes hab ich noch genug, dann probieren wir mal diese „Grundierungspflegen“ alle aus. An Geruch und Auftrag nichts auszusetzen.

And another one. What’s up with all these "apply before your normal skincare" products? (If I had to guess, I’d say they’re trying to create a new market by fulfilling another need we didn’t know we had.) But okay, I’ve got plenty of regular skincare, might as well give these a try. No complaints about scent or how it feels on the skin.

Clarins

Das kennen wir ja schon aus der Douglas-Box. Juchu, noch mehr Cellulite-Knabberer!

This is the same as in the Douglas box. Yay, more cellulite nibblers!

Flops:

Ingrid Millet Perle de Caviar Bio-marine extract – regenerating concentrate

Laut Beipackzettel mit 42 % Kaviar, der ja super sein soll für die Haut. Die letzte Ingrid Millet-Creme, die ich hatte, fand ich auch toll. Daher war ich bei dieser Ampulle auch bereit, darüber hinwegsehen, dass ich mir 42 % Fischeier ins  Gesicht schmiere. Aber leider riecht es auch so... da kann’s meinetwegen ein wahrer Jungbrunnen sein, ich renn nicht mit Fischgestank am Gesicht herum.

According to the packaging, this contains 42% caviar, which is supposed to make your skin explode into youthfulness or something like that. The last Ingrid Millet creme I had was awesome, so I was willing to overlook the fact that with this stuff I'd essentially be rubbing 42% fish eggs onto my face. But unfortunately, that's also exactly what it smells like... I don’t care if it’s the fountain of youth itself, I’m not going to run around smelling like I just faceplanted in a fishmonger's display.

The rest:

Jeanne Piaubert Nutrisatine nurturing body care (dry skin)

Ganz ok, riecht ein bisschen komisch aber nicht unerträglich. Irgendwie süß, wie eine tropische Blume mit Zimt, aber ohne das Kopfweh.

Pleasant enough, smells a bit weird but not unbearably so. Something sweet, like a tropical flower mixed with cinnamon, but without the headache.

Shiseido Advanced Body Creator Super Slimming Reducer

Anti-Cellulite-Creme. Riecht erstmal wie ein Haarprodukt, aber beim Auftragen kommt ein Mentholgeruch zutage. Nicht gerade mein Lieblingsgeruch aber ich werd’s nach dem Clarins-Zeug ausprobieren.

Anti cellulite body product. Smells kinda like hair product at first but once I applied it, it started smelling pepperminty. Not exactly my favourite smell but I can do it – I’ll test it after the Clarins stuff.

Einfach nicht mein Ding. Riecht wie das Original-Bottega Veneta nach alter Frau.

Eh. Like the original Bottega Veneta, it kinda smells like old lady.

Lalique L’amour

Blumig, ein bisschen zu süß für mich aber ich würd mich nicht wegsetzen, wenn es jemand neben mir tragen würde.

Flowery, a bit too sweet for my taste but I wouldn’t change seats if someone next to me was wearing it.

Eau de Sisley 1, 2 and 3

Die Verpackung gefällt mir gut, ich mag diese Booklets. Die größte Überraschung daran ist, dass ich Nr. 1 sogar tragen würde: Frisch mit einem Hauch von würzigen Blumen und Zitrus, ein „Aktivduft“. Nr. 2 ist laut Beipackzettel „wie ein Kleid aus weißen Blumen, gespickt mit grünen Noten“. In diesem Fall würd ich sagen, dass die grünen Noten auf dem Kleid Grasflecken sind, es riecht nämlich wie nasses Gras nach einem Gewitter. Würd ich gern an jemand anderem riechen. Nr. 3 soll offensichtlich der verführende Duft sein, ist mir viel zu schwer und würzig. Warum muss Verführung immer nach Hippieladen riechen?

Pretty packaging, I like these booklets. The biggest surprise here is that I’d actually wear No. 1: It’s fresh, with a scent of herbs and citrus, one of those scents they call sporty or active.  According to the description, No. 2 is like “a white-flower dress dotted with green notes”. I’d say the green on the dress is grass stains, because this smells like wet grass after a thunderstorm. I won’t wear this but I’d love to smell it on someone else. No. 3 is very obviously the seductive scent, way too heavy and spicy. Why does seduction always have to smell like you just walked into a hippy store?

Ich freu mich, dass ich die Box doch genommen hab – meine Freundinnen freuen sich über die Düfte und die Gesichtscremes, die zu luxuriös sind, um für meine sensible Nase gut zu riechen.

Nach langer Zeit habe ich wieder einen Boxen-Post für euch! Vielleicht kennt ihr sie schon von anderen Blogs, die Douglas-Box Österreich für April, die kam nämlich schon vorletzte Woche an, aber vorenthalten will ich sie euch trotzdem nicht.

Today I’ve got a beauty box for you, the April edition of the Douglas Box of Beauty I've talked about here and here. They tell you in advance what the full-size product will be and the brands of the accompanying samples, so you sort of know what you’re getting but not exactly. This month’s full-size product was OPI Cajun Shrimp, so that alone was reason enough to buy the box (which is less than a bottle of OPI). The sample brands also sounded like there’d be two scents max, and in the end there was only one, so yay!

Bei uns läuft das ja anders als in Deutschland, wir wissen im Voraus, was das Fullsize-Produkt sein wird sowie die Marken, von denen wir Luxusproben dazubekommen. Es ist also eine Halbüberraschung. Nachdem diesmal ein OPI.-Nagellack in Cajun Shrimp das Fullsize-Produkt war und ich maximal zwei der Proben als Duftproben einschätzte, musste ich sie natürlich haben. Das war gar nicht so leicht, denn man muss ob der limitierten Stückzahl ohnehin schon sehr schnell bestellen und diesmal musste man außerdem dauernd auf Facebook oder Douglas schauen, dass man die geheimen Verkaufszeiten nicht verpasst. Ich find dieses System sehr nervig und hoffe, dass sie es bei dem einen Testlauf belassen. Wenn ich weiß, es ist um 17h, kann ich das in meinen Arbeitsalltag einplanen, aber wenn ich permanent refreshen muss, ist das ein ziemlicher Konzentrations- und Zeitverlust. Für mich heißt das, dass Leute, die die Möglichkeit haben, den ganzen Tag auf Facebook online sein können, einen klaren Vorteil haben – ist auch nicht gerade die Fairness, die Douglas mit dem System wohl einführen wollte.

 

Aber genug davon! Sehen wir uns lieber die tolle Box an.

Kanebo Sensai Cellular Performance: Lotion II & Emulsion II (Moist)

Die beiden Kanebo Sensai-Produkte gehören zusammen und zählten offiziell nur als eine Probe: Zuerst soll man die Gesichtslotion auftragen, dann die Emulsion. Ich werde zunehmend ein Fan von Kanebo, ich hab nämlich schon einige Proben von ihnen bekommen und sie sind immer total angenehm, wirken gut und haben einen ganz milden neutralen Geruch. Und das Design ist so schön klar und minimalistisch. Auf diese beiden bin ich daher auch schon gespannt!

The Kanebo Sensai products go together and only counted as one sample: First you apply the lotion, then the emulsion. I’ve become quite a fan of Kanebo as I’ve gotten several of their samples and they’re always great, pleasant to use, effective and have an inoffensive scent. And the design’s so clean and minimalistic. I’m looking forward to testing these!

Clarins Body Lift Cellulite Control 

Dieses Produkt habe ich schon ein paar Tage ausprobiert und kann zumindest mal berichten, dass es die Haut sehr weich macht. Nach dem Auftragen spürte ich eine Art kaltes Brennen, aber nicht unangenehm. Ich nehme an, es ist das Menthol aus der Wasserminze, aber man kann sich ja zumindest vorstellen, dass das die Lotion ist, wie sie die Cellulite-Zellen wegfrisst ;)

I’ve been testing this for a few days and one thing I can tell you is that it makes my skin feel very soft. For a while after application, there’s this sort of cold burning sensation – not unpleasant, just a bit odd. I assume it’s the menthol from the aquatic mint extract, but it’s nice to imagine it’s the lotion nibbling away at my cellulite cells ;)

Die nails hands and feet (neue Douglas-Eigenmarke) Anti-Aging-Handcreme habe ich noch nicht probiert, da ich erst mal meine offenen Handcremes (darunter eine Kanebo) aufbrauchen möchte. Da ich aber zu trockenen Händen neige, wird sie auf jeden Fall gute Dienste leisten.

"nails hands and feet" (annoyingly without a comma) is the store’s own brand. I haven’t tried the anti aging hand lotion yet because I’ve got several hand lotions I want to finish up first (including a Kanebo Sensai one), but since my hands tend to be really dry, this will definitely come in useful.

 

Roberto Cavalli Acqua EdT

Der Duft sagt mir erwartungsgemäß nicht zu, der kommt zum nächsten Mädelsabend mit, vielleicht gefällt er ja jemand anderem.

As expected, Roberto Cavalli Acqua EdT isn’t my cup of tea, so that’s coming along to the next girls‘ night, see if anyone wants it.

 

Clarins Stretch Mark Control &
Lancaster Suractif Volume Contour regenerating night cream

Die beiden Extrapröbchen sind auch sehr nett. Clarins Stretch Mark Control hab ich noch nicht probiert (weiß nicht, wie sinnvoll es ist, das mit der Anti-Cellu-Creme zu kombinieren), aber ich kann’s auf jeden Fall brauchen. Und die Lancaster Suractif Volume Contour-Nachtcreme habe ich gleich auf meinen Wochenendtrip genommen und fand sie auch sehr angenehm.

The two extra samples are also nice. I haven’t tried the Clarins Stretch Mark Control yet – I’m not sure how much sense it would make to combine it with the anti cellulite lotion – but I can use it. I tried the night cream when I was away for the weekend and it’s nice.

 
O.P.I. Nail lacquer - Cajun Shrimp

Nun aber zum Star der Box: dem Nagellack. Cajun Shrimp ist ein tolles Rot, das ganz leicht ins Korallige geht und daher eine perfekte Frühlings- und Sommerfarbe ist. Trotzdem ist es ein Farbton, der noch als „normal“ durchgehen kann und den ich daher auch bei Gelegenheiten, zu denen ich mich etwas konservativer kleiden muss als sonst, verwenden kann. 

Für euch gibt’s ein Tragebild in den farblich fast perfekt passenden neuen Schuhen, die ich mir am Vortag bei Primark gekauft hatte. (Ok, in einem der fünf Paar Schuhe, die ich mir bei Primark gekauft hatte...)

 

But now for the main act: Cajun Shrimp is a beautiful red with a slight hint of coral, making it a perfect spring and summer colour. It’s also just "normal" enough that I can wear it on occasions where I need to dress more conservatively than usually. 

Here is a picture of it with the cute and almost perfectly matching shoes I just happened to buy at Primark the day before the box arrived. (One of five pairs, to be exact. I had a good reason for each of them.)

I didn't do "tops" and "flops" categories this time because the flop category would be empty, this box was just that good. It wouldn't be fair to put poor Roberto in there all alone, it's not his fault I don't like scents.

Diesmal hab ich den Inhalt nicht in "Tops" und "Flops" unterteilt, weil es in dieser Box für mich keine Flops gab. Und den armen Roberto ganz allein zu den Flops zu stecken wär nicht fair, er kann ja schließlich nix dafür, dass ich keine Düfte mag.

Der Inhalt der Beautesse-Box für Mai wurde gestern bekanntgegeben: seht selbst. Man kann sie auch sofort vorbestellen - aber man braucht sich meistens nicht so extrem zu beeilen (außer man ist aus Deutschland, denn ich glaube, dass es da nur ein kleines Kontingent gibt).

Wollen wir uns mal den Inhalt näher ansehen?

The preview for the Beautesse May box is out and it's available for pre-order (Austria only except for a limited number of boxes available for Germany). Here's my look at the contents to help myself and perhaps others decide whether to get it. I figured I'd post it in English too because I actually do have an opinion on a couple of products and I know I like seeing what other countries' beauty boxes are like. If you're curious, you can check out the product pics here.

Für's Gesicht / Face:

Gesichtspflege gibt's eigentlich in jeder Beautesse Box, das sind dann auch immer schön teure Produkte und meist recht Anti-Aging-lastig. Also vielleicht nichts für die Haut Anfang 20, aber wer wie ich nicht mehr Anfang 20 ist und schon mal Prophylaxe betreiben will findet hier interessante Produkte.

Beautesse boxes always seem to contain anti-aging face creams. They're always expensive brands and while they may not be suited for people in their early twenties, but women who want to start preventive care can really try out some interesting stuff.

• Sensai Prime Solution (2 ml): Mal was anderes: ein feuchtigkeitsbindendes Anti-Aging-Gel als Unterlage "um die Wirksamkeit der nachfolgenden Pflege zu erhöhen". Was auch immer das bedeutet. Grundpreis 149,-/75 ml - Wert 3,97
• A moisturizing anti-aging gel that is supposed to go under your regular skincare as a primer.
• Lancôme Advanced Génifique (7 ml): Ein ganz neues Produkt, das noch gar nicht erschienen ist. Soll reaktivierend und reparierend wirken. Ich hab dafür als Preis 81,95/50 ml gefunden. - Wert 11,47
• This one isn't even out yet. Supposed to reactivate and repair your skin.
• Ingrid Millet Perle de Caviar Bio-Marine Extract - Regenerating Concentrate (1,2 ml): Von der Caviar-Gesichtscreme von Ingrid Millet war ich ja sehr begeistert. Dies ist ein Anti-Falten-Konzentrat, das die Hautelastizität erhöhen soll. So wie ich das verstehe, bekommt man hier eine Ampulle zu 1,2 ml. 12 Ampullen kosten 197,90, somit ist diese eine stolze 16,49 wert.
• This is one expensive little vial. I'm not sure what the deal is with caviar but I really liked the Ingrid Millet Caviarissime I got in a previous box. 
• La Mer (3,5 ml): Eine festigende Feuchtigkeitscreme. Gab's in der Dezemberbox schon, muss man sich selber in der Parfumerie abholen (es ist ein Gutschein für eine Beratung dabei, die ich aber damals nicht in Anspruch genommen habe). Jetzt ist La Mer ja eine große Marke und soll auch so toll sein, aber ich werd hier jetzt mal ganz ehrlich sein und etwas sagen, das manche vielleicht schockieren wird: Ich mag La Mer nicht. Die Konsistenz ist furchtbar dick und es riecht so extrem nach Salzwasser, dass ich mit dem Zeug im Gesicht auf keinen Fall schlafen kann. Dabei mag ich das Meer und seinen Geruch normalerweise. Aber das hier, das ist nicht einfach eine Meeresbrise beim Spaziergang am Strand - das hier ist für mich die Ecke eines Frachthafens, wo ein Haufen Seetang in der Sonne liegt und sich die Möwen mit einem Mordsgezeter um die Fischreste aus den Kuttern streiten. Grundpreis 136,-/30 ml - Wert 15,86
• A firming moisturizer. We got this in a previous box as well, or actually you have to go to the store they're cooperating with to get your sample. Now, La Mer is a big brand and apparently the bee's knees, but I'll be honest here, and I realize this may not be a popular opinion: I really don't like La Mer. The cream is too thick for my taste, but my main problem is the smell of brine - it's so strong I just can't sleep with this stuff on my face. Usually I like the smell of the ocean, but this isn't just a fresh ocean breeze while you're walking along the beach - to me this is the distant corner of some port with a pile of seaweed rotting in the sun and screeching seagulls fighting over offal from the fishing boats.      

Für den Körper / Body:

Diesmal sind - laut Newsletter - auch einige "Body-Forming-Köstlichkeiten für die kommende Badesaison" dabei. Die Probengrößen sind beachtlich, allerdings muss man natürlich bedenken, dass man von Körperpflegeprodukten mehr verwendet als von Gesichtscremen.

This time there's several body sculpting creams as well, to prepare us for bathing suit time. These are generously sized, though of course you also use more of them at a time than of face products.

• Shiseido Advanced Body Creator Super Slimming Reducer (50 ml): Ja, da habt ihr richtig gelesen: 50 ml! Fett. Soll die Fettverbrennung steigern und die Haut straffen, festigen und glätten. Allerdings ist in der Beschreibung von einem Duft die Rede, das könnte problematisch werden. Erst ab April erhältlich, ich hab aber als Preis in einer Vorschau (Heinemann Dutyfree, was man so alles findet...) 51,-/200 ml gefunden, das entspricht ungefähr anderen Shiseido-Cremes. - Wert 12,75
• Another brand new product, supposed to increase fat burning and have a skin-firming effect. Unfortunately, the description says something about a fragrance, could be a problem.
• Clarins Body Lift Cellulite Control (30 ml): Soll die Haut straffen und festigen, die Hautoberfläche glätten und die Silhouette "sportlicher" aussehen lassen. Dafür braucht man wahrscheinlich etwas mehr als 30 ml. 44,95/200 ml - Wert 6,74
• Another firming and smoothing lotion.
• Jeanne Piaubert Nutrisatine Body Cream (30 ml): Körpercreme für trockene Haut. Grundpreis 42,50/200 ml (Douglas) - Wert 6,38
• This is a body cream (lotion?) for dry skin.

Für die Nase / Fragrances:

Düfte sind ja bekanntlich (wie auch am Beispiel La Mer zu sehen) nicht meins und bis auf Eau de Sisley sind das auch nagelneue Produkte, daher nehm ich zu denen nicht weiter Stellung.

I think by now everyone knows I have an awfully sensitive nose (if you didn't before, I think La Mer probably clued you in) and just can't deal with most fragrances, so I'm not going to comment on these. Anyway, they're so new they haven't even come out yet, except for Eau de Sisley.

• Bottega Veneta Eau Légére (4 ml): Die Légére-Version kommt gerade erst raus und ich konnte keinen Preis dafür finden, aber der normale Bottega Veneta-Duft kostet 59,90/30 ml - Wert 7,98
• Eau de Sisley 1, 2 & 3 (3 x 1,6 ml): Grundpreis 71,50/50 ml - Wert 6,86 (für alle drei zusammen) You get one of each, value is for all three
  
• Lalique L'Amour Eau de Parfum (2 ml): Auch ganz neu, Preis lt. Lalique.com 81,-/50 ml - Wert 3,24

 

Und außerdem / And the rest:

10 €-Gutschein für den Nachkauf der Produkte bei Nägele & Strubell, die diesmal wieder der Kooperationspartner ist. Hier möchte ich anmerken, dass ich mit dem Gutschein letztes Mal einen OPI-Nagellack gekauft habe und mir gesagt wurde, es sei nur Schmuck davon ausgeschlossen. Das heißt nicht, dass das auch diesmal so ist, aber wenn, dann ist das auf jeden Fall ein Bonus.

Bobby Brown "All about Eyes" Gutschein / Voucher: Für eine Beratung bzw. ein Augenmakeup bei Nägele & Strubell sowie ein Gewinnlos für ein Bobbi Brown Beauty Package.

In addition to the La Mer voucher, which includes a skin type analysis of some sort (I didn't do that last time), the box includes a € 10,- voucher to the cooperating store. It's supposed to be for the products/brands in this box only, but last time I was able to use it to buy OPI polish. That doesn't guarantee it'll work this time as well, but if it does, it's definitely worth it.

There's also a voucher for a Bobby Brown eye makeup & advice and a chance to win a package of Bobbi Brown products.

Generelles zum Inhalt / About the contents:

Diese Box ist extrem pflegelastig. Sehr viel für's Gesicht und für den Körper aber leider gar keine dekorative Kosmetik. Es ist ja sonst auch nicht so viel, aber in den letzten zwei Boxen war wenigstens Mascara und Lipgloss. Wer Düfte mag, bekommt hier gleich 5 zum Ausprobieren.

Um diese Box voll zu nutzen, muss man in eine Nägele & Strubell-Filiale gehen, auch zum Shoppen, da sie keinen Onlineshop haben.  

Lots of skincare in this box - face and body. I think it's a shame there's no makeup at all. There's never much but at least the last two boxes had mascara and lip gloss, respectively. If you like scents, this box is a great opportunity to try five new ones. To fully benefit from the box you'd have to live near a Nägele & Strubell store though, they don't have an online store.

Sachen, die ich mir auch so kaufen würde / Things I'd buy myself:

Diesmal ist leider nichts dabei, wo ich mir denke, das - oder etwas ähnliches - würd ich mir auch so kaufen. Klar, für die meisten Cremes und das Serum find ich schon Verwendung, aber meine normalen Cremes und Lotions kosten auch wesentlich weniger...

Den 10-Euro-Gutschein find ich gut, aber nur dafür lohnt sich's auch nicht. Das Augenmakeup würd ich mir auch machen lassen. Wie hoch die Gewinnchancen für das Bobby Brown-Paket sind, kann ich nicht einschätzen, aber das ist natürlich auch ein Bonus.

This time there's not really anything where I think I'd buy that (or something similar) myself. Sure, I can use most of the skincare products, but the creams and lotions I usually buy are considerably cheaper than these.

The €10 voucher is great but on its own it's not worth getting the box. I'd use the eye makeup voucher too. I don't know how high the chances for winning that Bobby Brown package are but that would of course be a nice bonus.

Sachen, die ich nicht kaufen würde / Thing I wouldn't buy:

Ganz klar die Düfte und La Mer. Bedenken hab ich bei beim Shiseido-Produkt, da extra der Duft erwähnt wird.

I obviously wouldn't buy the fragrances or La Mer. I'm also a bit worried about the Shiseido product since they stressed the scent aspect in the product description.

Fazit: Jein, ich weiß nicht. Preislich ist es die Box auf jeden Fall wert, aber will ich wirklich lauter Cremes um 19,90 kaufen? Gut, wenn ich den Gutschein dazurechne und er funktioniert wie beim letzten Mal, dann kann ich mir quasi noch einen OPI um 6 Euro kaufen. Also ist die Frage vielleicht: Will ich mir einen OPI und lauter Cremes um 25,90 kaufen? Keine Ahnung.

So what's a girl to do? I don't know.

The box is good value for money, no doubt, but do I really want to buy a box of skincare for €19,90? Okay, so if I can get another OPI with the voucher it'd be €6. So the real question is do I want to buy an OPI and a bunch of creams for 25,90? No idea.

Naja, vielleicht hat das ja jemandem von euch bei der Entscheidung geholfen! Ich muss noch überlegen.
